1. Authorization: The client is engaging Getmyownsite.com and it's sole proprietor, Alex Lais, as an independent contractor for the specific project of developing and/or improving a website to be installed on the client's web space provided by a web hosting company.
2. Satisfaction Guarantee: The client will be given a 30 day period, after the project is accomplished and paid, to request any changes without charge. This will cover basic changes on colors, fonts, shapes and writing content as long as the changes or contents added will not exceed more then 20% of the total contents of the project.
3. Copyright Material: All contents (writing contents and image contents) forwarded to me by the client and/or used on the service provided by Getmyownsite.com are to be copyright free. It will be solely the client's responsibility if the client uploads, displays, uses or forwards me any material that might lead into copyright infringement. I will not be liable for any copyright infringement content that might be utilized, displayed, uploaded or included on the client's web site or hosting account by me or by any other person.
4. Initial Payment and Refund Policy: A non refundable retainer of a minimum of $100.00 up to a maximum of 25% of the total quote will be required upon commencement of work. The retainer amount will be deducted from the total balance. The total balance will be due upon completion (on small projects) or might be charged upon work accomplished. I might request partial payment at any time to continue my work. There are absolutely no refunds.
5. Links: The client can request an unlimited amount of links on any page of its web site, referring to any other page of its web site or to any other web site, with no extra charge.
6. Contact Form: The client can request one personalized email contact form free of charge, with email protection against spammer robots.
7. Site Publicity and SEO: The client will have its site published on the major search engines with no extra charge. In addition my service will include a search engine friendly and optimized html code fully compliant with Google's Webmaster Guidelines. Results usually take one to six months but I cannot guarantee results neither will be responsible if search optimization is never obtained once it is in title to the search engines to accept or not a web site submission.
8. Maintenance and Hourly Rate: At any time after the project is accomplished and paid, the client might request my services for maintenance, updates or changes on a web site and the service will be provided at a fair amount that will not exceed the regular hour price charged on the beginning of the project. The client might also hire another web design provider for future maintenance, updates or changes and all the work already paid and accomplished will be found fully available and unrestricted online at the client's web address to be serviced by any other provider that has good knowledge of HTML hand coding and CSS. THE CLIENT WILL NOT BE TIED UP TO MY SERVICE AT ANY TIME.
9. Hosting Service: The client understands that any web hosting services require a separate contract with a web hosting company. The hosting company is to be chosen by the client. I may help the client on a decision and/or on the set up process of the hosting company but I will not be responsible for the service provided by the chosen hosting company neither will I be responsible by any other failure or discordance that is specifically associated to the hosting company service or billing.
10. Completion Date: An exact completion date cannot be specified once this is in reference to a work that requires use of creativity as well as back and forth communication between me and the client but, usually, I will do my best to attend the deadline imposed by the client but will not guarantee best results under rush or short deadlines. A usual time frame to accomplish a web site, after all information (writing information, images, colors and layout) is forwarded to me and after we discuss all the details about the project is approx. two weeks.
11. Signed Contract: These Terms might be printed and signed by both parties upon request.
12. Sole Agreement: The terms contained in this Contract constitutes the sole agreement between Getmyownsite.com and the client regarding this service. Any additional work not specified in this contract must be authorized by a written change order that should be signed by both parties.
